the book

In the kingdom of Faden, fate is inescapable. Leander, heir to the kingdom’s throne, is plagued by prophetic visions that leave him teetering between madness and reality.

Leander’s only solace comes from Marigold, his steadfast governess, who has protected him from the suffocating rule of his father. When Marigold is suddenly dismissed from the palace and declared a traitor, Leander is left shattered. As rumors spread of marauders targeting the legendary Glade, a hidden sanctuary for cursed women, Marigold sets off on a dangerous journey alone.

Desperate, Leander decides to leave the palace for the first time to chase after Marigold. But his father tightens his grip, forcing him into duties he’s unprepared for and a marriage he doesn’t want.

As Leander prepares for the journey ahead, he must confront the weight of his lineage, the expectations of his father, and the consequences of his own inaction. With the echoes of fate whispering at his heels, he will have to decide whether to embrace his destiny or break the chains that bind him.

Walking into the pristine room, guilt spilled over him. The guilt lay in his bed, looked out the window, and studied at his desk. Leander knew it wasn’t fair to live the way he always had after losing the only person who remained in it. He was afraid of his father, but that wasn’t really what made him a coward. Marigold was right. Well, Marigold was always right. He hadn’t changed. Continuing the way he was would lead him to become a king like his father.
